Vietnam futsal team was defeated 0-1 by Thailand, closing the group stage as runners-up in Group B.

The Vietnam futsal team was beaten 0-1 by Thailand in the final match of Group B at the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship on the afternoon of January 31. With this result, coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad finished second in the group and will face the winner of Group A in the quarterfinals.

In the 27th minute, from Gia Hung’s free kick, Thai Huy rushed in to tap the ball but it hit the post, much to the coaching staff’s disappointment. Three minutes later, Osaman Musa responded with a shot that struck the connection between the post and crossbar of Vietnam’s goal.

The turning point came in the 36th minute when Aransanyalak capitalized on a defensive lapse by Vietnam to score the only goal for Thailand. After conceding, the Vietnam futsal team switched to power-play in search of an equalizer. However, attempts by Chau Doan Phat and Tu Minh Quang were unable to beat goalkeeper Senbat.
