Vietnam U23's number one goalkeeper speaks out after V-League victory

Goalkeeper Trung Kiên highlighted that the victory over SHB Đà Nẵng was a justified reward, giving HAGL a psychological lift to push forward in the current V-League competition.

Following Hoàng Anh Gia Lai’s narrow 1-0 win over SHB Đà Nẵng, goalkeeper Trung Kiên showed clear confidence and determination, affirming that the whole team is heading in the right direction in this V-League season.

After the match at Pleiku stadium, Trung Kiên shared that he had just gone through a long period training with Vietnam U23 before returning to play for his club. Despite a packed schedule with almost no rest, the 2003-born keeper maintained consistent form, playing a key role in keeping a clean sheet for HAGL.

“Returning to play at home and winning with the whole team is very important; right now, I feel very happy. I believe today’s result is well-deserved for what the team has shown.”

Regarding the immediate return to training and playing right after leaving the U23 Vietnam squad, Trung Kiên said this is a mandatory requirement for a professional player. He believes quick adaptation to new environments is the key factor to maintain his performance.

“Every environment is different. As a professional player, you have to learn to adapt quickly. I reintegrated well with the team, which helped HAGL achieve this victory.”

Speaking about the positive impact from the Vietnam U23 team, Trung Kiên believes the achievements and fighting spirit of the youth team will greatly motivate young players in the V-League “I think Vietnam U23 recently achieved results that everyone, especially young players, should learn from in terms of spirit and determination.”

Discussing the current V-League standings, Trung Kiên admitted the competition is unpredictable, but the win against SHB Đà Nẵng is crucial for HAGL: “This was a match where we were very determined. The three points help us climb many positions and will boost HAGL’s morale for upcoming games.”
