CAHN Club has officially lost all chances to advance in the Shopee Cup even before their match against Tampines Rovers.
Following a 0-2 defeat to Selangor in the previous round, CAHN was officially eliminated from the Shopee Cup group stage despite having one game remaining. As the defending runners-up, it is unfortunate that the team has to exit at the group stage of the 2025/2026 Southeast Asian Club Cup.
Therefore, the February 4th match at the Shopee Cup against Tampines Rovers (Singapore) now only holds ceremonial significance regarding rankings, but CAHN is still preparing with a serious attitude. The coaching staff plans to rotate the squad, giving opportunities to hardworking substitutes while resting key players showing signs of fatigue.
At the press conference on the morning of February 3rd in Hanoi, ahead of the final Shopee Cup match, Coach Mano Polking emphasized the team’s determination: "We will give our best effort for tomorrow’s game. It is also a chance for other players, who have trained very hard, to start and showcase their abilities."
Mano Polking spent considerable time discussing CAHN’s fitness concerns. He stressed that the team is closely monitoring 3–4 cases of overload, including Đoàn Văn Hậu. According to the coach, any player not at 100% fitness will be rested to avoid long-term risks as the season enters a critical phase.
Besides personnel issues, Polking also mentioned the nearly 50-day break, a rare occurrence during the season. Many players had to join various national teams, especially the U23 Vietnam campaign in the continental finals. This interruption made it difficult for the club to regain high-intensity match rhythm.
Although acknowledging this year’s journey fell short of last season’s expectations—when the team reached the final and finished as runners-up—the German-Brazilian coach remains optimistic. He believes in football it is very challenging for clubs to maintain consistent performance while supplying quality players to national teams, so adaptability is key.
