Starting lineups
Vietnam's futsal team enters the quarterfinals after an impressive group stage performance. In the first match, they staged a dramatic 5-4 comeback against Kuwait, then defeated Lebanon 2-0. In the last group game against their "archrival" Thailand, the red shirts played attractively. Although they lost 0-1, coach Diego believed his players deserved the win.
On the other side, host Indonesia also impressed by advancing as group A leaders. Coach Sauto's team won two consecutive matches against South Korea and Kyrgyzstan before drawing with strong Iraq in the last round.
Indonesia and Vietnam are familiar rivals, having faced each other many times in regional and continental tournaments. Regarding Indonesia's strengths, coach Diego Giustozzi said this is a team with very high speed, good technique, solid organization, and many outstanding individuals, especially in the ala position.
Despite praising Indonesia, Vietnam’s futsal head coach remains optimistic. According to Coach Diego Giustozzi, the key factor lies in the ability to relieve pressure and maintain their own playing style. Currently, he is very satisfied with both individual form and the team's collective play.
