Mr. Diego Giustozzi - head coach of Vietnam Futsal team, spoke after the match against Indonesia.

Although dominating the game and creating many dangerous opportunities, the Vietnam Futsal team narrowly lost to the host with a score of 2-3, thereby giving the semifinal spot to the "archipelago" team. In an interview with TTXVN reporters after the match, head coach Diego Giustozzi congratulated the Indonesian hosts on their victory and expressed pride in his players' courageous spirit. The Argentine strategist said he had mixed feelings, being satisfied with both individual and team performances but unhappy with the final outcome.

Coach Giustozzi emphasized: "I believe Vietnam deserved at least a draw or a win, or at minimum to push the match into extra time. We did everything to win. However, I am happy with the style of play the team showed. After a year of squad changes and applying a new philosophy, I am confident that Vietnamese Futsal is on the right path. We have both the present and the future."

According to Mr. Giustozzi, the most important outcome from this tournament is that the young players gained valuable experience through high-intensity and high-pressure matches like this quarterfinal.

Sharing the same view as the head coach, player Đa Hải expressed regret that although Vietnam controlled the game and dominated in chances, the team lacked sharpness in the final stage. Đa Hải said: "What I regret the most is that we created more chances than Indonesia but only scored 2 goals, while the opponent made better use of their chances to score 3 goals. The biggest lesson for the whole team from this tournament is finishing. We need to be more efficient and better at concluding our opportunities."

Vietnam Futsal captain Nguyễn Mạnh Dũng shared his thoughts after the match.

Meanwhile, captain Nguyễn Mạnh Dũng expressed gratitude to the fans who supported the team. He highly praised the passionate atmosphere at Indonesia Arena and affirmed that the entire team gave their best to deliver a quality match despite the pressure from thousands of home supporters.

Although they could not advance to the semifinals to compete for further qualification, this year’s performance showed promising signs of a generational transition in Vietnamese Futsal. After the tournament, the team will return home to continue training, address weaknesses, and aim for upcoming international goals in 2026.
