As Benzema moved from Al-Ittihad Jeddah to Al Hilal Riyadh, Cristiano Ronaldo emerged as the major loser. Despite boycotting, he couldn't stop Benzema from joining Riyadh's rival in the Saudi Pro League. Apart from Ronaldo, ex-Liverpool forward Núñez suffered the most from Benzema's transfer.
According to the latest from Brazilian Goal journalist Raisa Simplicio, Núñez is displeased with the club’s acquisition of Benzema, feeling undervalued. Reportedly, with Benzema’s arrival, Al Hilal had to free up a foreign player slot, causing Núñez to lose his place. Fenerbahçe is interested in bringing both Kanté and Núñez from the Saudi Pro League to the Turkish league, where they can also compete in the Europa League this season. Fenerbahçe plans to sign Núñez on a loan-to-buy deal, and Al Hilal has already accepted their offer.

Núñez joined Al Hilal last summer from Liverpool for a transfer fee of €53 million, but his performance has fallen short of expectations. To put it bluntly, he has been inefficient, nowhere near as effective as the previous English Premier League striker (Fulham’s) Milotović, who became a lethal weapon for Al Hilal.

At 26, Núñez cannot even compete with 38-year-old Benzema for a spot in Al Hilal, which simply shows Núñez’s poor form. This season, Núñez has scored only 7 goals in 22 matches across all competitions for Al Hilal, averaging more than three games per goal, which is completely unacceptable for a leading striker at a top Saudi Pro League club. He failed to make an impact at Liverpool and still hasn’t proven himself at Al Hilal, showing that he is a reckless forward lacking strategic sense.
