Recent reports about Cristiano Ronaldo's rebellion at Al Nassr are said to be inaccurate.
According to The Record, Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr is still in Saudi Arabia, completely contradicting earlier rumors. In fact, the Portuguese superstar continues to train regularly with the team and has not missed any training sessions.
Pedro Sousa, CEO of Correio da Manha Radio, stated that the controversies surrounding Ronaldo actually stem from his reaction to FIFA seemingly ignoring rule violations by some other clubs in the Saudi Pro League. According to Sousa, Ronaldo has not skipped training or left Saudi Arabia during this time. Media speculations are merely exploiting his name and damaging the legacy of the Portuguese football legend.
Sousa also emphasized that fans will be able to verify this information themselves today as Ronaldo continues to train with his teammates at Al Nassr. This was confirmed when Ronaldo posted images of himself training in Al Nassr's kit, thereby dispelling rumors about any rift with the club’s management.
Previously, rumors circulated about Ronaldo rebelling against Al Nassr's management and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). These tensions were believed to be the reason why the Portuguese star did not participate in training and missed the team’s matches.
According to various sources, CR7 was unhappy with Al Nassr’s transfer activity, as the club only signed Haydeer Abdulkareem, a 21-year-old Iraqi midfielder. His frustration grew especially after the temporary suspension of Sporting Director Simao Coutinho and CEO Jose Semedo by the board since early this month, a decision said to have particularly upset Ronaldo.
Meanwhile, the situation at Al Hilal is quite the opposite. Also managed by PIF, this club has been very active in the transfer market, securing Pablo Mari from Fiorentina, Kader Meita from Rennes, successfully convincing Karim Benzema to leave Al Ittihad, and signing young talent Bouabre from Neom.
