As per the most recent notice from the organizers, both coach Velizar Popov and coach Gerard Albadalejo will be barred from coaching in the 13th round of the V-League.
The organizers have announced that the coaching duo Velizar Popov (from Thể Công Viettel club) and Gerard Albadalejo (from Ninh Bình club) will not be allowed to lead their teams in round 13 of the V-League, scheduled from February 7 to 9.
The Bulgarian strategist has accumulated 3 yellow cards since the start of the season, which means he must sit out the match between Thể Công Viettel and SLNA on February 8.
Meanwhile, Spanish coach Gerard Albadalejo has been sanctioned according to Decision No. 93/QĐ-LĐBĐVN due to his reaction against the referee during the match between CAHN and Ninh Bình in round 12 of the V-League. According to the decision, the Ninh Bình team’s head coach will be suspended for two consecutive matches and fined 10 million VND..
On February 1, after the match between CAHN and Ninh Bình ended, coach Gerard Albadalejo lost his composure and rushed onto the field with a very tense demeanor. The 1983-born strategist approached the main referee from Malaysia, Razlan Joffri, forcing the assistant referees to quickly intervene to prevent the situation from escalating.
The tense atmosphere continued during the post-match press conference. Albadalejo entered the room visibly upset. He claimed that the referees’ decisions disrupted the flow of the game, ultimately causing his team to suffer a defeat.
Besides the two coaches, five other players are also suspended for round 13, including: Dụng Quang Nho (Ninh Bình), Đỗ Hùng Dũng (Hà Nội), Nguyễn Hữu Nam (Hải Phòng), Nguyễn Hữu Thắng (Thể Công Viettel), and the overseas Vietnamese Williams Lee (Công an TPHCM).
