According to the official announcement from VPF, 5 players are suspended for round 13 of the V.League 2025/26 due to either receiving a red card in the previous round or accumulating 3 yellow cards since the start of the season.
The list of players required to miss the matches includes: Dụng Quang Nho (Ninh Bình), Đỗ Hùng Dũng (Hà Nội FC) who received red cards in round 12; meanwhile Nguyễn Hữu Nam (Hải Phòng FC), Nguyễn Hữu Thắng (Thể Công Viettel) and Lee Williams (CLB CA TP.HCM) are suspended due to accumulating 3 yellow cards since the beginning of the season.
A notable case is Đỗ Hùng Dũng in the match between Hà Nội FC and SLNA in round 12. Wearing the captain's armband and scoring to make it 2-0 in the 26th minute, but by the 40th minute, he was shown a direct red card by referee Ngô Duy Lân after VAR intervention for a dangerous tackle on Lê Nguyên Hoàng. This red card causes Hùng Dũng to miss both rounds 13 and 14, a significant loss for Hà Nội FC's midfield.
Also in round 12, Ninh Bình suffered a regrettable 2-3 home defeat against CLB CAHN. A negative highlight of the match occurred in the 37th minute when Dụng Quang Nho received two yellow cards in quick succession, forcing him off the field early. In the 2025/2026 season, Quang Nho has been an indispensable player in coach Gerard Albadalejo's tactical setup. He has played 11 out of 12 V-League matches and scored 1 goal, playing a key role in Ninh Bình's midfield.
Another notable case is Lee Williams of CLB CA TP.HCM. In the round 12 match held on the evening of February 1st, the 2007-born striker continued to impress by scoring the opening goal in the first half with a cool finish. However, in this match, Lee Williams also received another yellow card, bringing his total to 3 yellow cards since the start of the season. This means he will have to sit out the away game against Thanh Hóa in round 13.
Not only players, but round 13 also sees two coaches barred from performing their duties on the sidelines. They are Velizar Popov (Thể Công Viettel), who accumulated 3 yellow cards this season, and Gerard Albadalejo (Ninh Bình), who was banned from coaching due to excessive comments after the loss to CAHN in round 12.
Just after scoring, a rare overseas Vietnamese player unexpectedly receives bad news in Vietnam The 2-1 victory over PVF-CAND helped CLB Công an TP.HCM (CA TP.HCM) strengthen their position in the top race, but the joy was marred by a major personnel loss for the police-affiliated club in the next round.
