The V-League champion unexpectedly undergoes a trial at a new club

Hai Phong FC is conducting a trial for defensive midfielder Moses Oloya, a former Uganda national player with V.League experience, who may be signed if he successfully passes the assessment.

Hai Phong FC is becoming the focus in the transfer market as defensive midfielder Moses Oloya arrived at Lach Tray Stadium for a trial. According to multiple sources, if he passes the coaching staff’s professional evaluation, the former Uganda international is likely to be officially signed by the coastal city club to strengthen squad depth for the next phase of the season.

Moses Oloya is not an unfamiliar name in Vietnamese football. The midfielder, born in 1992 and standing 1.80m tall, has spent a long period competing in the V.League with several ambitious clubs. He began his career in Vietnam with Xuan Thanh Sai Gon from 2011 to 2013 before moving to Binh Duong (2014–2016). Afterwards, Oloya played for Hanoi FC from 2017 to 2021, then joined Hai Phong FC in the 2022 season. In 2023, he returned to Binh Duong before leaving the V.League to seek a new club.

During his time playing in Vietnam, Oloya has collected an impressive list of honors. He won the V.League titles in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 and secured the National Cup in 2019-2020. Although not known for scoring goals, Oloya is highly regarded for his excellent stamina, disciplined playing style, and effective ball interception and recovery in midfield.

At the national team level, from 2011 to 2017, Moses Oloya earned 47 caps for Uganda. Despite not scoring, he was a regular choice as a defensive midfielder, quietly contributing to the overall play of the East African team.

For Hai Phong FC, trialing Moses Oloya demonstrates their ambition to strengthen the midfield with an experienced playerwho is familiar with the V.League environment and has previously been associated with the coastal club. If he meets the professional and physical requirements, Oloya could become a valuable option, helping Hai Phong enhance midfield stability in the fierce competition for the remainder of the season.
