Spanish coach warns his team about Xuân Son's caliber

Xisco Munoz, coach of Johor Darul Tazim FC, gave special compliments and showed wariness towards forward Nguyễn Xuân Son before the crucial game.

The match between Nam Định FC and Johor Darul Tazim (Malaysia) on the evening of February 5 is expected to deliver an intense chase as both teams possess very strong squads.

In a press conference before the match, Johor Darul Tazim’s coach Xisco Munoz commented: “They (Nam Định) are a team with very good tactical organization,” Muñoz stated. “They transition quickly, with speedy players who create threats in attack. They also apply good pressure and have quality individuals, especially in set-piece situations."

Currently, Nam Định leads Group B with 12 points after 4 matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding only twice. Meanwhile, Johor is second, trailing by 2 points. In this game, a draw will secure Nam Định the top spot, while Johor must win to claim first place.

“It’s no coincidence that they have earned maximum points so far. They are strong both collectively and individually, and tomorrow we expect a very tough match. The key is that we must show a level equal to theirs,”the Johor Darul Tazim coach added.

Notably, the Spanish strategist also praised the home team’s striker Nguyễn Xuân Son:“Xuân Son is very dangerous, especially with his crosses into the penalty area, so we need to fully focus on defending against his plays."

“Overall, they have good attacking players, so our defensive organization, particularly in transitions and defending without the ball, must be very clear and smart to counter their speed and strength,”the coach concluded.
