Vietnam National Team finalizes 2 matches against China ahead of the Asian Cup finals

As part of the training camp from February 7 to February 14 in China, the Vietnam women's national team will face the home side in two practice games.

After the domestic training phase, the Vietnam women's national team will depart for China to train from February 7 to February 14 in preparation for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup. Specifically, according to the plan, on the morning of February 7, coach Mai Đức Chung and his team will leave for Shenzhen. Notably, here, Huỳnh Như and her teammates will successively face the Chinese women's national team in two friendly matches scheduled for February 10 and February 13. After completing these matches, the entire team will return home on February 14 to continue the final preparation stage.

Coach Mai Đức Chung stated that the coaching staff considers the training camp in China as a crucial step in the preparation process for the upcoming major tournament. Competing against one of Asia's top teams will help players improve their resilience, tactical organization, and adapt to high-intensity play.

Importantly, to maintain training progress, the Vietnam women's team has postponed their Lunar New Year holiday. Players only had a brief break before regrouping to begin preparations for the official competition.

Currently, the Vietnam women's national team has 28 players in the training roster. It is expected that after the national U19 women's championship concludes on February 7, the coaching staff will add several young talents to give emerging players the opportunity to gain experience at the national team level.

At the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals, the Vietnam women's national team is placed in Group C and will play the group stage in Perth city, facing India (March 4), Chinese Taipei (March 7), and Japan (March 10) at the Perth Rectangular Stadium.
