Indonesian national team player Shayne Pattynama is confident that the Indonesian national futsal team can beat Iran and win the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup. The Indonesian national futsal team advanced to the final of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship after a thrilling 5-3 victory over Japan in the semifinal held at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, on Thursday (02/05/2026).
Shayne Pattynama hopes the Indonesian national futsal team can maintain their current form. So that when facing Iran in the final at Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Saturday (February 7, 2025), Mochammad Iqbal Rahmatullah and his teammates can fully unleash their potential.
"Hopefully, now we can not only reach the final but also win it. I think that would be amazing," he said. In fact, Pattynama attended the Indonesia Arena twice in person.
"It was an incredible feeling. I was also present at the match against Iraq, and the atmosphere was fantastic," Shayne Pattynama said. "The team played well, it was a great game. It was really exciting to watch, and making it to the final is wonderful, so this is truly a great achievement," added the Persija Jakarta newcomer.
Additionally, Shayne Pattynama praised the Indonesian national futsal team’s performance at the 2026 Asian Cup. The 11-a-side Indonesian player said they played an excellent match.
"The players are very skilled. Truly very talented. The goals they scored were beautiful," Shayne Pattynama said. "They gave their all. Every time they blocked a shot, they put in their full effort. So yes, the team spirit is amazing. All players performed excellently today," he concluded.
