Kylian Mbappe is said to have dispatched an official notice to PSG's main office requesting the settlement of the remaining payment, pushing the conflict between them into a heightened legal stage.
Mbappe continues to attract attention off the pitch by deciding to send an official notice to Paris Saint-Germain’s headquarters, demanding the club pay the outstanding sum of 5.9 million Euros. According to French media, this amount is the remainder of a 60.9 million Euro settlement package that PSG was ordered to pay the French star following a court ruling at the end of 2025.
Specifically, PSG has paid 55 million Euros but has not yet fulfilled its obligations regarding accrued vacation pay and interest. Mbappe’s firm stance puts the Parisian club under an eight-day deadline to complete the payment. If PSG continues to delay, Mbappe’s side has the right to ask legal authorities to enforce measures, including directly withdrawing funds from the club’s account.
The incident demonstrates that the relationship between Mbappe and PSG remains unresolved, even though the 1998-born striker has officially joined Real Madrid. Amid ongoing financial disputes, Mbappe still faces professional pressures at the Spanish royal club.
Earlier this week, Real Madrid disappointed by losing 2-4 to Benfica in the Champions League. After the match, Mbappe openly criticized the team’s spirit, saying the issue was not tactical or technical quality but a lack of desire. Nevertheless, in La Liga, he made his mark with a decisive penalty goal in stoppage time, helping Real secure a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano.
Amid debates surrounding Mbappe’s form and leadership role, French national coach Didier Deschamps has defended his player. According to Deschamps, Mbappe is a true leader in the locker room, especially influential with younger players, contrary to the selfish image often portrayed by the public.
Currently, Mbappe remains Real Madrid’s biggest hope in attack. He has scored 22 goals in La Liga and a total of 37 goals in 30 matches across all competitions this season. Up next, Mbappe and Real will face Valencia, aiming to continue chasing Barcelona in the title race while temporarily setting aside legal troubles with PSG.
