On February 5th local time, TCL’s “Edelweiss Wonderland” Milan Winter Olympics theme pavilion was inaugurated at Duke of Aosta Square in Milan Central Station, Italy. Over 150 guests attended the opening ceremony, including IOC President Thomas Bach, IOC Director-General Christophe De Kepper, IOC Development Director Ansofi Wumar, IOC President’s Office Director Jane Patterson, IOC Chief Information Officer Ilario Corna, TCL Technology CEO Wang Cheng, TCL Technology CTO and TCL Huaxing CTO and TCL Industrial Research Institute Director Yan Xiaolin, TCL Industry CTO Sun Li, and TCL Industry Senior Vice President and Air Conditioning Division General Manager Chen Shaolin.

“TCL is a leader in technology, but its success goes beyond just tech. TCL shares core values with the IOC — daring to be extraordinary, connecting people, and bringing the Olympics closer to everyone,” said Bach in his speech. “TCL’s communication efforts help bring the Olympic spirit to communities worldwide, and we will continue working together to make the Olympics more accessible to athletes, sports fans, and communities everywhere.”

“Under the theme ‘It’s Your Greatness,’ every visitor can experience TCL’s cutting-edge innovations. These technologies will play a vital role in energizing and enhancing the Milan Winter Olympics,” Wang Cheng said in his opening remarks. “Today marks a milestone for TCL as a global Olympic partner, a collaboration born from our shared pursuit of innovation and excellence with the IOC. TCL firmly believes in the power of sport to transcend cultures and eras, inspiring and uniting people.”

Integration of technology and humanities
It is reported that TCL’s “Edelweiss Wonderland” is a Milan Winter Olympics theme pavilion jointly developed by TCL, the Milan Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, and the Milan Municipal Government. The pavilion will be open for exhibitions from February 6th to 22nd during the Milan Winter Olympics. Covering approximately 600 square meters, its design concept is to “showcase every extraordinary vitality,” inspired by the famous European alpine flower, the edelweiss. Growing at high altitudes in the Alps, the edelweiss holds a revered place in European culture, symbolizing courage and resilience.

The pavilion’s exterior features a sleek, technology-inspired static blue glass facade adorned with large edelweiss flower motifs, blending technology with natural vitality. The roof is equipped with TCL photovoltaic panels, embodying a low-carbon philosophy to create a green exhibition space.
Inside, the pavilion showcases TCL’s smart terminal products and advanced display technologies. Smart terminals include SQD-Mini LED TVs, art TVs, AI health sleep air conditioners, dual magnetic fresh refrigerators, AI super drum washing machines, Thunderbird AR/AI glasses, smart door locks, and more. Cutting-edge displays mainly feature printed OLED and Micro LED technologies, including a 27-inch 4K 120Hz printed OLED MNT screen, the world’s first 28-inch foldable portable printed OLED MNT screen, and the smallest silicon-based Micro LED display globally at 0.05 inches.

Providing infrastructure services and intelligent experiences for the Olympics
At this Milan Winter Olympics, TCL empowers the entire Olympic scene with its leading technologies and products, offering critical technical and infrastructure support for Olympic broadcasting.
For live broadcasting and event scenarios, TCL has established comprehensive cooperation with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), supplying various advanced display products to build an “Olympic Screen Universe.” TCL provides hundreds of large-screen HD TVs, digital signage, and LED screens to the International Broadcast Center (IBC) for broadcasting during the games. Additionally, TCL’s display products are fully deployed across venues such as the opening and closing ceremony sites, competition arenas, broadcast centers, media centers, Olympic Village, and security operation centers, significantly enhancing live broadcast and on-site viewing experiences.

For athlete participation, TCL offers a range of AI smart terminal products to the Olympic Village, supporting athletes throughout their competitions and creating a smart, healthy experience. The products include air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, AR/AI glasses, digital signage, and audio systems. TCL also supports the Olympic “Athlete Moments” with large-screen HD TVs, helping athletes, including those on Team TCL, connect with family and friends immediately after events.
For global audiences watching the games, TCL employs cutting-edge display technologies such as SQD-Mini LED, printed OLED, and quantum dots to faithfully reproduce the Olympic venues, bringing high-definition broadcasts from the arenas directly into living rooms worldwide. This ensures lossless signal quality and allows viewers everywhere to enjoy an immersive viewing experience.
The trend of Chinese technology empowering global major events is becoming increasingly evident. Unlike simply providing products and technologies in the past, Chinese tech now plays a crucial foundational role. It is believed that in the future, Chinese tech companies like TCL will contribute “China solutions” to the global sports industry through more advanced technology applications, core infrastructure roles, and deeper innovative collaboration models.
