Midfielder Emerson Souza swiftly secured a new team following his departure from SHB Đà Nẵng.
After saying goodbye SHB Đà Nẵng, midfielder Emerson Souza promptly found a new destination in his career. The Brazilian player recently officially joined Madura United, a club competing in the Indonesian top league. The contract between the two parties is reportedly for six months.
The move to Indonesia allows Emerson Souza to continue playing in a highly competitive league within Southeast Asia, while also offering an opportunity to refresh his career after a period with limited impact in the V-League.
Previously, Emerson Souza joined SHB Đà Nẵng in January 2025, at a time when the Han River club needed to strengthen their squad for the second half of the 2024/2025 season. He was expected to reinforce the midfield thanks to his strong fitness and powerful playing style.
The Brazilian midfielder developed through the youth academy of Rio Branco (Brazil). In 2018, he went to Europe and played for Porto, mostly with the youth team, before returning to Brazil to continue his professional career. Emerson Souza can play as both a central midfielder and a defensive midfielder.
Over two seasons with SHB Đà Nẵng, Emerson Souza appeared in a total of 26 V-League matches. In the 2025/2026 season alone, he featured in 11 games, mainly in the central midfield role. Despite consistently showing a serious attitude and effort in every match, he has yet to make a significant professional impact.
Therefore, before the next phase of the 2025/2026 season began, the SHB Đà Nẵng coaching staff, led by head coach Lê Đức Tuấn, decided to terminate the contract with the Brazilian foreign player.
