The Vietnam women's team arrived in Shenzhen to start their training camp ahead of the 2026 Asian Cup finals.
On the morning of February 7, the Vietnam women's team, led by head coach Mai Đức Chung, departed for China to start their training camp in Shenzhen. This is part of their preparation for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup, which will be held in Australia.
The delegation left Noi Bai International Airport in the morning and arrived at the Shenzhen Youth Football Training Center at 3:00 PM local time (Vietnam time) the same day. According to the plan, the Vietnam women's team will train here from February 7 to February 14.
The squad traveling to Shenzhen includes 26 players. Two players are absent: Nguyễn Thị Kim Yên, who is currently undergoing treatment at Vinmec Hospital due to health issues and is expected to need one month before returning to high-intensity training.
The other player not participating in this camp is Hồ Thị Thanh Thảo, who suffered an injury during training. Thanh Thảo is being monitored for recovery and is expected to rejoin the team when training resumes in Hanoi.
This afternoon, under coach Mai Đức Chung's guidance, the team will hold their initial training session to adapt to the weather, pitch, and training environment in Shenzhen. This phase is crucial for improving fitness, refining tactics, and strengthening team cohesion.
During the training camp, the Vietnam women's team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against the China women's national team on February 10 and February 13. These matches are expected to provide valuable tests, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate the squad, review the lineup, and adjust tactics ahead of the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals.
The training camp in Shenzhen is an important step in the Vietnam women's national team's preparation to achieve strong results at the continental tournament.
