Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức reveals the injury status of Tiến Linh

Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức mentioned that Tiến Linh’s ankle injury has flared up again after CA TP HCM’s 1-2 defeat against Thanh Hóa, causing major worries about the team’s lineup.

The 1-2 loss to Thanh Hóa in the 13th round of the 2025/26 V-League not only caused CA TP HCM to drop points at home but also triggered serious concerns regarding the squad, especially the injury of key striker Nguyễn Tiến Linh. This is considered a significant setback for Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức’s team during a crucial phase of the season.

In the match on the evening of February 8, Tiến Linh was unable to complete the game as he had to leave the field in the 58th minute due to ankle pain, being replaced by Đinh Thanh Bình. The recurring physical issues of the 1997-born forward have caused particular worry for CA TP HCM’s coaching staff, as this is not the first time he has suffered this injury this season.

After the game, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức openly discussed his player’s condition: “Tiến Linh keeps experiencing repeated ankle injuries. Every strong collision causes pain. This type of injury is persistent, it heals and then returns, affecting his performance significantly.”According to the experienced coach, not having peak physical condition makes it difficult for Tiến Linh to maintain consistency and the necessary ball control.

Not only Tiến Linh, but Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức also believes that the fitness levels of many CA TP HCM players have been impacted due to disruptions in the match schedule. “This period is very challenging. Vietnamese players often feel tired after the Tet holiday break. They completely stop training and focus on family life, so when they return to practice, they need time to regain their rhythm.”He explained, emphasizing that the post-Tet period is always a tough challenge for clubs.

Regarding the opponent, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức praised Thanh Hóa’s fighting spirit. “Thanh Hóa deserves much praise today. They ran hard throughout the match, pressed constantly, and created many difficulties for us. CA TP HCM players were somewhat surprised by their spirit and intensity.”he said.

Despite the loss, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức acknowledged that CA TP HCM did not play poorly, generating over 10 dangerous chances. “That’s football; you attack a lot but fail to score, and you end up losing.”he admitted.
