Midfielder Nguyễn Thái Sơn has given his initial comments after undergoing ligament surgery on February 6th.
On his personal page, midfielder Nguyễn Thái Sơn shared his first reflections after the ligament surgery in Ho Chi Minh City: "Today, now that I have stabilized after the operation, what I feel most clearly is not only relief but also a deep gratitude to everyone who stood by me during this difficult time," Thái Sơn began.
Thái Sơn expressed thanks to the club's Board of Directors, coaching staff, and teammates at Ninh Bình for their care and for providing the best possible support during his surgery. Additionally, he extended his gratitude to the medical team at the hospital, especially Dr. Phạm Quốc Hùng, who performed the surgery.
Moreover, the midfielder from Thanh Hóa did not forget to thank the fans and his family for their continuous encouragement and support: "I also want to send my thanks to the fans. Your well wishes and concern throughout this period have been a tremendous source of mental strength for me. Most importantly, my family has always been by my side with love and support,"Thái Sơn expressed.
The Vietnam U23 midfielder unfortunately suffered an injury during his debut match for Ninh Bình in the 12th round of the 2025/26 V-League. The diagnosis revealed a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, along with tears in both the medial and lateral menisci. After surgery, Thái Sơn will need to rest and recover for 8 to 9 months. He affirmed that he will strictly follow the rehabilitation process and strive to return to the pitch in the best condition as soon as possible.
