On February 10th Beijing time, the NBA regular season battles continued with multiple games concluding today. The Jazz defeated the Eastern powerhouse Heat 115-111, the Hawks suffered a heavy 116-138 loss to the offensively explosive Timberwolves, the two lowest-ranked Western teams clashed with the Kings getting crushed 94-120 by the Pelicans, and in a highlight matchup, the Cavaliers narrowly defeated the Nuggets 119-117 with a buzzer-beater. These results shook up the Western standings: the Nuggets remain third despite the loss, the Timberwolves sit sixth, the Jazz are third from last, and the Kings have now fallen to the bottom with a 16-game losing streak!

Jazz vs. Heat. Both teams had players missing for this game. The Jazz, positioned near the bottom of the West, showed little effort to catch up. Their road game against the Heat also lacked intensity. Yet the Heat struggled terribly, collapsing in the second quarter with a 35-20 deficit. Though given opportunities later, they couldn’t come back or secure a win. It was a dismal showing overall, but with seven Jazz players scoring double digits, they claimed victory over the Heat!
Hawks vs. Timberwolves. From the tip-off, both teams launched into offensive battles without much defense. However, the Timberwolves’ offense was more potent, leading the first quarter 41-34. In the second quarter, the Hawks’ scoring efficiency dropped sharply, while the Timberwolves kept up their hot shooting, especially from three-point range, posting a 40-22 quarter. At halftime, the Timberwolves led by 25 points. In the second half, the Timberwolves’ shooting cooled off, allowing the Hawks to chip away at the lead. But in the final quarter, the Timberwolves shut down the Hawks’ comeback attempts, using their firepower to maintain control and ultimately overwhelmed the Hawks with 16 three-pointers!

Kings vs. Pelicans. Two of the lowest-ranked Western teams faced off, with the Kings enduring their 12th straight loss. The Kings showed some resistance in the first quarter but soon started missing shots. The Pelicans went all out on offense, continuously attacking and widening the gap. The difference grew so large that the outcome was never in doubt. Ultimately, the Kings fell to the Pelicans, extending their losing streak to 13 games!

Cavaliers vs. Nuggets. This game was a marquee matchup. The Cavaliers gained a boost with Harden joining their roster, while the Nuggets had Jokic returning and in excellent form after several games. Early on, the Nuggets, playing at home, had a strong offense and led by 5 points at halftime. The second half turned into a thrilling shootout, with both teams exchanging points rapidly. After three quarters, the gap remained 5 points. In the final period, the Nuggets pulled ahead, but in a dramatic finish, the Cavaliers fought back. Harden stepped up with clutch three-pointers to tie the game, and Mitchell sealed the win with free throws. The Cavaliers ultimately triumphed over the Nuggets in a hard-fought battle!
