Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức disclosed that Tiến Linh’s ankle injury has repeatedly come back.

The 1-2 defeat to Thanh Hóa in the 13th round of the 2025/26 V-League not only left Ho Chi Minh City Police FC empty-handed at home but also raised serious concerns about the squad. The main issue is the injury to key striker Nguyễn Tiến Linh — a significant loss during a crucial stage of the season for coach Lê Huỳnh Đức’s team.

In the match on the evening of February 8, Tiến Linh had to leave the field in the 58th minute due to ankle pain, making way for Đinh Thanh Bình. The recurring physical problems of the striker born in 1997 caused additional worry for the coaching staff, as this was another flare-up of his familiar injury since the start of the season.

After the game, Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức admitted the situation was complicated: “Tiến Linh suffers from repeated ankle injuries. Any strong impact causes pain. This type of injury is very persistent — it heals and then returns, affecting his performance significantly.” He also noted that several other players experienced reduced fitness due to the Tet break, as returning to match rhythm always requires adjustment time.
