Displaying their strength, Man City closes in on Arsenal's top spot

Manchester City shortened the distance to Premier League leaders Arsenal to 3 points following a commanding 3-0 win against Fulham, simultaneously extending their remarkable run of 20 straight wins in all tournaments.

Undefeated in their last 55 midweek Premier League matches (47 wins, 8 draws), Man City unsurprisingly took control of the game from the outset against Fulham. Phil Foden nearly opened the scoring twice within the first 10 minutes. The home side’s pressure intensified as the first half progressed and was rewarded in the 24th minute when a misheaded clearance by Sander Berge allowed Antoine Semenyo to calmly finish, marking his 13th Premier League goal this season.

Fulham almost responded immediately when Harry Wilson’s low shot was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma. This save proved crucial because just minutes later, Man City doubled their lead in the 30th minute. Semenyo continued his influence with a perfect through ball to Nico O’Reilly, who stayed composed and finished neatly past Bernd Leno. Not stopping there, the home team scored a third before halftime as Erling Haaland unleashed his trademark shot from outside the box, sending the ball into the bottom corner.

In the second half, Fulham, who have scored in 13 of their last 14 league games, pushed to get back into the match. Emile Smith Rowe and Raúl Jiménez had a few chances but failed to hit the target. Meanwhile, Man City maintained full control and played comfortably as the game moved into the final 30 minutes.

Coach Pep Guardiola took the opportunity to rest some key players. The match slowed down towards the end. Although Fulham created some late pressure, Man City easily preserved their victory, extending their unbeaten home Premier League run to 12 matches (10 wins, 2 draws), while continuing to apply strong pressure on Arsenal in the title race.
