Vietnamese-Spanish midfielder Julien Nguyen is currently facing many challenges in his career development. While hoping to continue his career in Spain, he had to leave due to work permit issues. Returning to Canada, the 2006-born player chose to train with a local club to maintain fitness and match rhythm while waiting for the right opportunity to advance.
Determined not to give up on trying his luck in his homeland, Julien quickly arranged to return to Vietnam to seek opportunities. He joined the PVF-CAND Youth team, known for fostering young talents to prove themselves in the First Division. During the trial, the 1.82m midfielder demonstrated his professional qualities with calm ball control and clear tactical thinking. However, when it came to contract details, both sides failed to reach an agreement, so the deal could not be finalized.
This is not Julien’s first time returning to Vietnam. In August 2025, he came back to rest, visit family, and train at Becamex Ho Chi Minh City. These training sessions helped the Vietnamese-heritage player better understand the domestic football environment, competition level, and professional standards in local leagues.

Regarding his strengths, Julien says he is a creative midfielder who can support defense, organize attacks, and bring positive energy to the team. The young player believes his best position is central midfielder, where he can control the game’s tempo and deliver decisive passes.
Although raised in Canada, Julien’s love for his homeland remains strong.He expresses pride in his Vietnamese heritage and hopes one day to wear the national team jersey. Being very young and professionally trained early on, the door remains wide open for Julien Nguyen to return to Vietnam and seek new challenges.
