Midfielder Quang Hải shares his feelings about spending the Lunar New Year away from home for the third time.

Engaged in matches with CAHN at the AFC Cup 2 Asia, Quang Hải faces his third Lunar New Year away from his loved ones.

Having to play far from home during the Lunar New Year brings Nguyễn Quang Hải a mix of special emotions.The CAHN midfielder admits this is already the third time he celebrates the Lunar New Year while fully focused with the team, without the joy of family reunion. Nonetheless, Quang Hải sees this as an inevitable part of his career and is ready to accept it in pursuit of common goals.

“This is not the second but the third time I spend the Lunar New Year away from home, and it brings many indescribable feelings. However, it is also a memorable experience shared with my teammates. I hope that even though we celebrate the holiday apart from our families, we will achieve the best results together as a New Year’s wish, opening a smooth year with many better outcomes,”Quang Hải expressed.

On the field, the midfielder born in 1997 delivered a brilliant performance by scoring a brace against Tampines Rovers, greatly contributing to CAHN’s commanding 4-0 victory in the first leg. This result provides a significant advantage, bringing the Vietnamese team very close to securing a spot in the AFC Champions League Two quarterfinals.

However, Quang Hải remains cautious. He believes that a large lead does not justify complacency, as the second leg still holds many risks. The entire team must maintain full concentration and prepare thoroughly both physically and mentally to achieve the goal of advancing.

Sharing the reasons behind the convincing win, Quang Hải emphasized tactical factors and team cohesion. According to him, CAHN executed exactly what the coaching staff planned, from the approach to the match to maintaining team shape and supporting each other throughout the 90 minutes.

“I think this was a match where the whole team worked hard together and executed exactly what we prepared tactically and strategically. All of this helped the team achieve a good result in the first leg. The entire squad was united, covering and supporting each other very well during the game,” Quang Hải concluded, expressing his confidence in a smooth second leg and a meaningful Lunar New Year on the pitch.
