U23 Vietnam creates a buzz with a meaningful gesture during Lunar New Year

In the days approaching the 2026 Lunar New Year, U23 Vietnam gave Coach Dinh Hong Vinh a modest yet meaningful present, reflecting the spirit of honoring and respecting mentors.

In the days before the Lunar New Year 2026, the atmosphere at the main training base U23 Vietnam was not only lively due to training routines but also warm because of a heartfelt gesture. The young players collectively prepared a small gift for Coach Dinh Hong Vinh as a sincere token of gratitude ahead of the new year.

On his personal page, the experienced assistant coach emotionally shared: “During the New Year, receiving a small but heartfelt gift from the U23 Vietnam boys”. This brief status clearly shows his appreciation and happiness in receiving such a thoughtful gesture from his students.

According to information, the gift was agreed upon by the entire team, focusing less on material value and more on its symbolic meaning. Amid the busy schedules of training and matches, this act highlights the team's internal unity and their gratitude toward the coach who supports them behind the scenes.

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh is a familiar figure in the coaching staff of national teams over many years. He participated in the historic journey of Vietnam’s U20 at the 2017 World Cup, worked with U23 Vietnam under Coach Park Hang Seo, and recently celebrated the Vietnam team’s ASEAN Cup 2024 victory.

Currently, he serves as the assistant to Coach Kim Sang Sik. At the U23 level, he has often been trusted as interim head coach during the CFA China Team tournaments in 2024 and 2025, and during the FIFA Days in September when the head coach was occupied with the national team’s Asian U23 Championship qualifiers for 2026. His calm demeanor and solid expertise make him a reliable support for the young players.
