Tiến Linh transferred 50 million VND to support Thanh Hóa FC amid the club's financial difficulties.
On the afternoon of February 12th, the Thanh Hóa FC fan community received a special piece of good news. Under the comment section of a fundraising post for the club, Nguyễn Tiến Linh – a striker registered with Ho Chi Minh City Police FC – left a heartfelt message: “I, Tiến Linh, would like to join everyone. Thank you very much!”, accompanied by confirmation of a 50 million VND transfer.
Tiến Linh’s gesture quickly spread widely on social media. While Thanh Hóa FC struggles with numerous financial challenges, the action of a player not wearing the Thanh Hóa jersey brought immense moral support. It was not just about material value but also about the solidarity shared among professionals in the sport.
This fundraising campaign was initiated about two weeks ago by Mr. Nguyễn Hải Quan – former chairman of the supporters’ association – who called for contributions. By midday on February 12th, the amount collected from fans had nearly reached 190 million VND. This figure reflects the undying love fans have for their hometown football team.
What touched many was that throughout these tough times, the Thanh Hóa team continued to take the field with the highest fighting spirit. No strikes, no giving up; the players chose to unite, playing with honor and responsibility to repay the trust from their supporters in the stands.
Previously, after a victory against Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, Mr. Hải Quan also transferred 5 million VND to coach Mai Xuân Hợp as a form of encouragement. From this small but heartfelt act, the movement to support the club expanded, and then Tiến Linh’s contribution ignited this flame even stronger.
Currently, Mr. Hải Quan has set up a dedicated account to receive fan contributions, pledging that all funds will be handed directly to the coaching staff and players before Tet. In these difficult times, this unity – especially the gesture from Tiến Linh – has become a pillar for Thanh Hóa to believe they are not alone in overcoming the storm.
