Young star of Vietnam women's national team evaluates training camp in China

Tran Nhat Lan: "The training camp in Shenzhen is a precious chance for us to get ready for the Asian competition."

Before the second friendly match against the China women's national team, young player Tran Nhat Lan highly praised the training conditions and the professional significance of the camp in Shenzhen (China), considering it an important step in preparation for the goal of the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup final tournament.

"Through this training camp, I see that the facilities are excellent, and the opponents provide high-quality sparring. This is a chance for the whole team to strive to improve our skills and better prepare for the upcoming tournament," Tran Nhat Lan shared.

Regarding her personal goal on the journey toward the first opportunity to participate in the Asian stage at the national team level, Nhat Lan said: "I am still young, so I am learning a lot from my seniors. The older players always support and guide me both in training and matches. That helps me improve day by day."

The young player of the Vietnam women's national team also expressed her excitement ahead of the major tournament: "I am really looking forward to competing against strong opponents at the Asian tournament. It will be a very special experience and a motivation for me to work harder."

According to the plan, this afternoon the Vietnam women's team will hold their last training session in Shenzhen before the second friendly match against the China women's team, scheduled for February 13. This is an opportunity for the coaching staff to continue reviewing the squad and finalize the lineup before returning home to prepare for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals in Australia next March.

The squad traveling to Shenzhen includes 26 players from the Vietnam women's national team. Two players are absent from the training camp: Nguyen Thi Kim Yen due to health issues and currently receiving treatment at Vinmec Hospital; Kim Yen is expected to need one month before returning to high-intensity training. The other player not participating in this camp is Ho Thi Thanh Thao, who was injured during training. Thanh Thao is being monitored for recovery and is expected to rejoin training with the team once they regroup in Hanoi.
