Huỳnh Như hopes to achieve good results with the Vietnam women's national team at the Asian Cup finals, aiming for their second appearance in the Women's World Cup.
In March, the Vietnam women's national team will begin their campaign at the 2026 Asian Cup finals, facing Japan, Chinese Taipei, and India in Group C.
Ahead of the tournament, forward Huỳnh Như shared some interesting insights with the Asian Football Confederation. Notably, she specifically mentioned the goals of the Vietnam women's team for this competition.
“This is my third time participating in this tournament, and each year I notice many changes. Particularly, the level of teams in the region has become much closer, and the gap between them is narrowing. This has increased competitiveness and made the tournament very exciting,” Huỳnh Như stated.
“I hope that this edition will be even more competitive and the differences between teams will be minimal. The tournament will present high-quality competition and attract many fans to the stadiums to watch and support the matches.”
Following their success at the 2022 Asian Cup finals, where Vietnam impressively defeated several opponents to qualify for the World Cup for the first time, Huỳnh Như said:
“Our main goal in this tournament is to get past the group stage. After that, we will aim to secure a spot in the World Cup,”she emphasized.
According to the schedule, the Vietnam women's team will face India (March 4), Chinese Taipei (March 7), and Japan (March 10) in order.
Currently, coach Mai Đức Chung and his team are actively training during their training camp in China to prepare for the tournament.
