Captain midfielder Nguyễn Quang Hải spoke about experiencing Tet away from home during the 2026 Lunar New Year.
Club CAHN will be the only V-League team competing throughout the 2026 Lunar New Year period. Specifically, under coach Mano Polking, they will travel to face Tampines Rovers (Singapore) in the ACL2 round of 16 second leg on February 18 (the second day of Tet).
However, according to Quang Hải, this is not unexpected for a professional footballer. After the first leg, the CAHN captain said:
"This is not my second time but my third Tet spent away from home, bringing many indescribable emotions. Yet, it is also a memorable experience for us players,"Quang Hải shared.
"I hope that while celebrating Tet away, the whole team can achieve the best results as a New Year’s greeting, ushering in a smooth year with many better outcomes," he added.
Meanwhile, coach Mano Polking also expressed his understanding and encouragement to his players: "I encouraged my players, expressing sympathy and apologizing to them. Tet is very important to Vietnamese people, and the players have to sacrifice a lot for the club’s goals. They are very professional and deserve to be rewarded."
In the first leg played on February 11, CAHN secured a 4-0 victory over their opponents, putting one foot in the quarterfinals. In the second leg, a draw will be enough for the Vietnamese representative to advance. Even if they lose by no more than 4 goals, CAHN will still win on aggregate.
