After 13 rounds, the V.League 2025/26 has surprisingly seen a player achieve a goal tally equal to top forwards like Nguyễn Tiến Linh, Nguyễn Quang Hải, and Phạm Tuấn Hải.
Following the departure of key attackers such as Nguyễn Công Phượng, Nguyễn Văn Toàn, and several other experienced players, HAGL entered a phase of squad rebuilding. In this context, Nguyễn Minh Tâm was given the chance and quickly proved his worth.
Born in 2005 and standing 1.80m tall, possessing the ideal physique of a modern striker, Minh Tâm developed through HAGL’s youth academy. He previously won the U21 National Championship with U21 HAGL and gained experience at Kon Tum FC and Long An FC before being promoted to the first team in the 2024/25 season.
Although he appeared in V.League last season, it was only in the 2025/26 season that Minh Tâm truly exploded, receiving more playing time. His three goals in 13 rounds not only reflect his technical improvement but also demonstrate the young striker’s composure in Vietnam’s most competitive football environment.
Notably, Minh Tâm’s goal count currently matches experienced attacking stars like Tiến Linh, Quang Hải, and Tuấn Hải. Despite lacking the media spotlight of his predecessors, the HAGL forward is showing consistent performance and a leading role in the team’s offense.
Beyond scoring, Minh Tâm actively participates in pressing, holding up the ball, and creating space for teammates. These qualities are crucial for HAGL to maintain control and apply pressure against stronger opponents.
His impressive form in V.League 2025/26 could open the door to the national team for Nguyễn Minh Tâm in the near future. According to the Vietnam Football Federation’s plan, the U21 Vietnam squad will represent the country at the 20th Asiad in Japan in 2026, a tournament featuring 16 teams that competed in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship final.
In a context where Vietnamese football boasts a generation of talented young players, Minh Tâm can definitely become a noteworthy attacking option if he maintains his current form. With his good physique, sharp goal-scoring ability, and V.League experience, the HAGL striker is expected to be part of the campaign targeting Asiad 2026, and further ahead, the 2028 AFC U23 Championship and Olympic qualifiers.
Unexpected option emerges to replace Tiến Linh in the Malaysia showdown As the Vietnam national team prepares for the March 2026 FIFA Days with a crucial match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, coach Kim Sang-sik is reportedly considering a notable personnel change in the attacking lineup.
