Thanh Nhã was the sole goalscorer for the Vietnam women's national team in both friendly games versus China.
Following the training camp in China, with two practice matches against the host women's team, the entire Vietnam women's squad gained many valuable lessons. Regarding the training results, player Nguyễn Thị Thanh Nhã said this was an important opportunity for the Vietnam women's team to improve ahead of the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals.
Speaking about the opponent, Thanh Nhã commented: “The Chinese women's team plays aggressively, with quick one-two passes and very physical challenges. When competing against such teams, if we don't contest strongly and stay focused, we will face many disadvantages.”
Overall, after the two matches in China, Vietnam lost with an aggregate score of 1-8. A few days earlier, in the first leg on February 10, the team was defeated 0-2. This result extended a series of unfavorable trial matches, as before traveling to Shenzhen, the team had also lost to Uzbekistan’s women's team with a total score of 1-6 over two friendlies. Nevertheless, the coaching staff emphasized that the main goal remains to identify weaknesses for adjustments.
As the sole goalscorer for the Vietnam women's team in the two practice matches, Thanh Nhã said this would motivate her to keep striving: “From the moment I scored against China, I will try to maximize my strengths. When entering the match, I need to be more determined and confident to contribute more to the team.”
The recent friendlies also provided young players with chances to play, test their abilities, and verify tactics. Evaluating the training camp in Shenzhen, Thanh Nhã emphasized: “After this training camp, the whole team has gained a lot of tactical experience, especially regarding fitness and intensity in competition. These are very important factors when playing at the continental level.”
Thanh Nhã also affirmed the entire team will continue working hard to improve their weaknesses aiming for the best results at the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals in March.
