Vietnam women's national team returns home, finalizes reunion schedule right during Tet

On the afternoon of February 14, the Vietnam women's national team arrived back in Hanoi, concluding their training camp and friendly matches in Shenzhen, China.

Accordingly, the flight carrying Coach Mai Đức Chung and his team landed at Noi Bai International Airport at 2:30 PM.

The training camp in Shenzhen was a crucial preparation step for the Vietnam women's national team on their path to the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals. During this period, the entire squad engaged in intensive training combined with friendly matches to evaluate the squad, test formations, and improve fitness, endurance, and tactical coordination. The coaching staff also provided opportunities for many young players to showcase their talents and gain more international match experience.

In two friendly matches against the host nation, Coach Mai Đức Chung’s team recorded two consecutive losses, with scores of 0-2 and 1-6 respectively. Nevertheless, these matches served as valuable lessons for the whole team before entering the official competition.

On the morning of February 15, the team will hold a training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to maintain their activity rhythm and complete the final professional tasks before a short break. After this session, players will return to their hometowns to celebrate Lunar New Year with their families.

On February 18 (the second day of the Lunar New Year), the entire team will regroup to continue training and finalize preparations for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals, which will be held in Perth, Australia, starting March 4. With thorough preparation and high focus, the Vietnam women's national team is aiming to achieve positive results in the continental tournament.
