To fully focus on preparing for the 2026 Asian Cup final round, the Vietnamese women's national team will only have 2 days off during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday.
The 2026 Lunar New Year will be an emotional holiday for the girls of the Vietnamese Women's National Team, as the entire squad will only get exactly 2 days off—a very short time compared to the traditional long family reunions of the Vietnamese people. This may also be the shortest holiday for Coach Mai Đức Chung and his team this year.
Specifically, on the afternoon of February 15, 2026 (the 28th day of the lunar year), after the last training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the entire team will temporarily return home to celebrate Tet with their families. After the 2-day break, Huỳnh Như and her teammates will regroup on February 18 (the 2nd day of Tet) to continue training, refining tactics and fitness in preparation for the 2026 Asian Cup finals in Australia.
Notably, before returning home to rest, leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Sports Administration, and the Vietnam Football Federation visited to offer Tet greetings and encouragement to the women's team. According to head coach Mai Đức Chung, despite the approaching Lunar New Year, the coaching staff and players have maintained the workload and intensity according to the training plan, with a high level of focus and professional discipline.
With only 2 days off for Tet, the golden girls of Vietnamese women's football are demonstrating strong responsibility and a great desire to contribute. Vietnamese women's football is at a critical stage, and this small sacrifice during Tet could help pave the way for significant progress on the international stage.
Wishing the players and coaching staff good health, a joyful Tet during this brief break, and continued brilliance in Perth ahead!
