Manchester United warns Barcelona not to lower Rashford’s price; worst case he returns wearing number 14! Valued at €30 million for one player

During ongoing transfer negotiations, Manchester United has informed Barcelona that there will be no bargaining and that they cannot buy Rashford for less than €30 million (£26 million). The 28-year-old Rashford is currently on loan at Camp Nou this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists in 34 appearances. He is presently sidelined due to injury, and Barcelona has lost its La Liga top spot.

Barcelona’s loan agreement allows them to complete a permanent transfer this summer for €30 million, with an additional €5 million in variable clauses. However, Barcelona has a reputation for being stingy when it comes to buying loan players outright and is facing financial difficulties, leading to rumors that they hope to reduce the buyout fee.

Manchester United has no intention of conceding because Rashford has now reestablished himself as an England international, and €30 million is considered a fair transfer fee. The club expressed surprise to Spanish media about any willingness to negotiate a lower price, stressing that such a possibility is zero. United has warned Barcelona firmly on this matter.

Rashford is a product of Manchester United’s youth academy, so all transfer fees would be pure profit. Additionally, saving £325,000 per week in wages is a significant financial relief. Along with the upcoming contract expirations of high earners like Casemiro and Sancho, the club will have greater financial flexibility in the transfer market.

Rashford’s contract with Manchester United runs until summer 2028, and the club hopes to sell him this summer. The club denies rumors that Carrick wants Rashford to return, and Rashford himself does not wish to come back; he enjoys his new life in Barcelona and is eager to stay.

But if Rashford cannot be sold, since Ruben Amorim, with whom there was a fallout, has been dismissed, it won’t be a major issue if the United star stays. His number 10 shirt has been given to Cunha, number 19 belongs to Mbemo, and number 39 is worn by youth player Tyler Fletcher. However, the number 14 jersey Rashford wears at Barcelona has not been used by any United player since Eriksen left.

Therefore, if Rashford has to remain at Manchester United, he could take on the new number 14 shirt. The club also happens to need a left winger, so if Rashford is sold, they might bring in a new signing. In the January transfer window, the Red Devils once attempted to sign Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo for a £65 million release clause, but unfortunately, he chose Manchester City instead.

Meanwhile, Manchester United may also sell Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee this summer. He hoped to return to Serie A during the January window but the club refused to let him go. Zirkzee has not pushed hard for a transfer and still holds some hope of proving himself at United.

Unfortunately, since Carrick took charge, Zirkzee has not been given any starting opportunities, and it seems unlikely he will break into the main squad this season. United has favored a strikerless formation, with consistent scorer Sheshko coming off the bench, and Zirkzee is even behind him, only getting minutes late in matches.

Italian media reports that Zirkzee regrets not demanding a transfer more firmly and may truly return to Italy this summer. “Football Market” states Juventus is the top candidate to sign him, as Dusan Vlahovic’s contract is expiring without renewal signs, new signing Jonathan David has been inconsistent, and Lois Openda is considered a total failure. Manchester United might be willing to sell Zirkzee for just €30 million plus variable clauses.
