David Beckham is preparing to make a comeback at Manchester United.

According to notable reports, David Beckham has been contacted by a group of UAE billionaires as they prepare to pursue a takeover of Manchester United.

According to sources from The Star and The Mirror, an anonymous group of investors from the UAE is planning to submit a bid to acquire shares currently held by the Glazer family, the principal owners of Manchester United.

In this effort, they have approached the club legend David Beckham to seek his support for the deal. The investors have reached out to Beckham to see if he would be willing to act as an ambassador for the takeover plan.

Beckham currently possesses an estimated fortune of around £300 million and owns Inter Miami as well as Salford City. If he wishes, the former England international would also have the opportunity to invest in his former club. Thanks to his global fame, Beckham is considered the top candidate for this role, surpassing other Manchester United legends like Eric Cantona and Wayne Rooney.

David Beckham has publicly criticized the Glazer family's management over the past 20 years, accusing them of burdening the club with massive debt, including total costs for interest, repayments, dividends, and fees reaching £1.2 billion.

Manchester United is currently valued at about £2 billion, but the American owners are said to only consider selling if they receive around £5 billion. The Glazer family still holds the main controlling stake, despite having sold nearly 30% of shares to the British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos group, who invested £1.2 billion in the club.

Ratcliffe previously outbid Sheikh Jassim from Qatar in the 2023 race to buy the club, when the Glazers announced their willingness to sell all or part of their ownership.

Earlier this month, SunSport revealed that rumors of a UAE takeover surprised many within Manchester United. Previously, Saudi official Turki Alalshikh hinted at ongoing negotiations regarding a possible ownership transfer.

The connection between Alalshikh and billionaire Rodolphe Saade is believed to be the reason this news spread widely. Saade is currently Chairman and CEO of CMA CGM, the company that recently acquired Freightliner, which owns the land surrounding Old Trafford, a key site in plans to build a new stadium with a 100,000-seat capacity.
