A Vietnamese athlete visits 100 cancer patients during Tet 2026

Ahead of the 2026 Lunar New Year, forward Phạm Tuấn Hải delivered comfort and moral support to 100 cancer patients at Tan Trieu K Hospital with a heartfelt visit.

In the days leading up to the 2026 Lunar New Year, striker Phạm Tuấn Hải took special time to visit and present gifts to over 100 patients undergoing treatment at Tan Trieu K Hospital (Hanoi). Without fanfare or media attention, this trip was carried out quietly like many other charitable activities he has maintained over the years.

Few know that besides football, the 1998-born striker regularly organizes community support programs in his personal capacity. He proactively contacts hospital social work departments to identify those in difficult circumstances. Instead of sending gifts through intermediaries, he often visits in person to talk and share with each patient.

According to close acquaintances, Tuấn Hải rarely shares his charity work on social media, and his teammates seldom know about his plans. Friends say the striker usually goes on charity trips alone, almost never taking souvenir photos; most images are videos captured incidentally by patients' families or fans, as he prefers to keep everything simple and private.

The 2025-2026 season has been a challenging period for the striker affiliated with Hanoi FC. Continuous injuries have prevented him from playing regularly and made it difficult to maintain a spot on the Vietnam national team. Amid a turbulent season for the capital club, Tuấn Hải is striving to recover and return to his best form soon.

Previously, the striker made a strong impression by winning the 2023 Vietnamese Silver Ball thanks to his outstanding performance in the AFC Champions League Elite. He holds a notable collection of titles including the V.League championship, National Cup, and National Super Cup, confirming his status as one of Vietnam's top forwards today.

Tuấn Hải’s most memorable moment in the national team jersey came at the 2024 AFF Cup, when he rose from a substitute position to shine brightly in the second leg final against Thailand with a decisive double that helped Vietnam secure the championship. His quiet contributions off the field, just like on the pitch, continue to demonstrate the image of a player who always chooses to contribute through actions rather than words.
