Carrick stated that Mount may still be unable to return and declined to comment on Sir Jim's punishment! Manchester United aims to defeat their home ground nemesis Everton.

Manchester United will visit Everton on Monday, with English midfielder Mason Mount getting closer to a comeback, but manager Carrick hinted he might still not be ready due to recurring injuries that require caution. Dutch defender De Ligt will definitely remain sidelined with a back injury, and Danish international Patrick Dybro is also out due to a hamstring issue.

Between September and December, Mount appeared in 14 straight games without injury, scoring against Sunderland, Crystal Palace, and Wolves. However, after Ruben Amorim's departure, Mount quickly returned to the injury list. Carrick explained, "Mason is recovering well, but we must be patient and not rush him. We hope he can fully heal before rejoining. He is a vital member of the squad, and we want him back in good shape so he can contribute significantly. His progress is encouraging."

Regarding De Ligt's injury, rumors suggest the Dutchman aims to play against Crystal Palace on March 1, the team he got hurt facing in the first leg. Carrick said, "Matthijs is also working hard on his recovery, though his progress is a bit slower than Mason’s. We are doing all we can to help him catch up quickly."

Manchester United drew 1-1 with West Ham in their last Premier League match, and Carrick hopes to return to winning ways against Everton. Everton currently sit 8th in the Premier League, with David Moyes boldly declaring their goal is European qualification rather than relegation. However, Everton's home form is poor, having only won 4 matches at their new stadium, earning them the label of a "home ground curse."

However, Carrick warned Manchester United not to underestimate their opponents. "Many factors influence the outcome of a match. Moyes’ team is always tough to face. He is an excellent coach who understands the Premier League well. This presents a new challenge for us, and the team must work hard. Away at their new stadium is historically one of the toughest away matches. We will give our all; the team has built a solid foundation, showing team spirit and determination, and we must perform again on Monday."

On how to bounce back after their winning streak ended, Carrick emphasized, "Whether we win or not, we must stay calm, neither getting too excited nor too disappointed. Premier League matches are intense, with possession and tactics being crucial. Scoring late in the game was a highlight, and earning points is very important for us. Of course, we want to win, but at least we avoided coming away empty-handed."

Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently apologized after criticizing the UK for being colonized by immigrants, and this week he also received a warning from the FA. The FA admonished Sir Jim to take responsibility but decided against charges, fines, or further action.

In response, Carrick said this is not a topic the team needs to focus on. "I believe Sir Jim has already made a statement, and the club has expressed its position, so I have nothing to add," Carrick said. "What I can say is that I have worked at the club for many years, and we have a huge global influence, so responsibility is necessary. As players, staff, and fans, we are extremely proud of the club’s current environment, and we pursue values of diversity and equality every day. We have a strong team, both players and coaches, who communicate closely and support each other."

Carrick added, "We understand the global situation and the responsibilities we bear. I can only share my personal experience from working here long-term. Manchester United has fans from diverse backgrounds, and I am proud of the principles and achievements the club has upheld over the years. The players have been in great form this week; we took some time to rest and reset, and now we are focused on preparing for upcoming matches. We are excited about the next game."

Since the last match, Manchester United has had 13 days off, and Everton the same. Carrick said, "We are making the most of this break. Given the coaching changes and everything we’ve experienced this month, taking a few days to adjust is important. The schedule causes irregular intervals between games, so we are working hard to adapt to this situation."
