On February 21st Beijing time, the 14th day of the Milan Winter Olympics ended with 7 gold medals distributed among 6 nations. Norway, the frontrunner, won 1 gold, the USA took 1 gold, the Netherlands exploded with 2 golds in a single day, Germany earned 1 gold, and South Korea clinched 1 gold in short track speed skating. The Chinese team also surged forward, capturing another gold, achieving the remarkable feat of 4 golds in 3 days. This caused a major shakeup in the latest medal standings: Norway remains dominant with 17 golds, the USA reached double digits with 10 golds, the Netherlands jumped to fourth with their two golds, Germany rose to fifth, China climbed to 12th, and South Korea moved up to 13th!

Earlier in this Winter Olympics, our long gold medal drought caused immense pressure, and we were often mocked by South Korean media. However, on the 12th competition day, we broke the streak with a gold medal surge, winning two golds in one day. Following that, we continued this golden run, now boasting an incredible 4 golds in 3 days. We have secured golds in men’s snowboard slopestyle, women’s freestyle aerials, men’s freestyle aerials, and the highly prestigious men’s 1500m speed skating. Our ranking soared 7 places, jumping directly to 12th!

The current medal standings have been updated. Let’s take a look: the top nine are all European and American countries. Norway stands out alone, winning gold daily and leading with 17 golds. The USA has surpassed the host Italy with 10 golds. The Netherlands climbed to fourth after winning two golds in one day, and Germany moved up to fifth with one gold. Asia’s top country is Japan in 10th place with 5 golds, just one gold ahead of China!

We currently hold 4 golds and rank 12th. With few competition days left, surpassing our Beijing Winter Olympics record is no longer possible. However, China still has two gold medal opportunities ahead. If we win both, we have a strong chance to overtake Japan and become Asia’s number one. This is our greatest hope — let’s achieve it! Keep pushing forward!
