The 12 teams drawn include: China, South Korea, Japan (the top three teams from the 2022 Asian Women’s Football Championship in India), and Australia (host of the 2026 Asian Cup Women’s Final Tournament, granted automatic qualification), along with eight teams that qualified through the preliminary rounds held last June: North Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, India, and Bangladesh.
The tournament will take place from March 1 to March 21, 2026, across three cities: Sydney, Perth, and Gold Coast — venues that previously hosted matches during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
With support from the Vietnam Football Federation and thorough preparation combined with the team’s determination, it is hoped that the Vietnam women’s national team will fulfill their mission.
