Manchester United's young talent, JJ Gabriel, continues to impress with a stunning solo goal, extending his remarkable form for the club's U18 team.
The 15-year-old player has made a big impact at the academy this season and his latest performance further highlights his nearly limitless potential. Gabriel opened the scoring for Man United U18 against Wolves at the 24th minute on Saturday with a classy move.
Receiving the ball at the edge of the box, Gabriel was quickly surrounded by several Wolves defenders. Despite having almost no space, he skillfully dribbled in tight quarters, spun around before breaking free near the byline. From a very narrow angle, Gabriel unleashed a powerful shot that bounced off the underside of the crossbar and into the net, leaving the opposing goalkeeper nearly helpless.
After celebrating with his teammates, Gabriel also scored a penalty, raising the score to 3-1 for the "Red Devils." This brilliant goal marked Gabriel’s 16th of the season.
Born in London, Gabriel spent time training at Chelsea, Arsenal, and West Ham before joining Old Trafford. At age 9, he moved to Manchester with his family and signed with Man United two years later, at the same time as his close friend Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.
Attention on Gabriel has grown throughout this season as senior club figures have been closely monitoring his development. Although he just turned 15 in October, Gabriel has repeatedly trained with the first team. The interim first-team coach was also present in the stands to watch Gabriel and his teammates compete in the FA Youth Cup against Oxford last week.
Previously, coach Darren Fletcher praised this young talent. Fletcher said: “JJ is an exceptional talent. I really enjoy working with him. He is young but has already attracted a lot of attention, and rightly so because JJ is genuinely very gifted.”
“He works hard. The first thing I want to say is that JJ loves football. He enjoys training, playing, having the ball, and expressing himself. He makes very good decisions. JJ’s passion for football is truly remarkable. At just 15, he has a bright future ahead.”
However, Fletcher also emphasized not rushing this young player too soon. He added: “I’m very excited about JJ’s talent, but the most important thing is that he keeps developing. He’s playing very well at U18 level but still has a lot to learn. The world is wide open for JJ. He needs to continue his journey, and his time will come.”
“Right now, it might still be a bit early (for the first team), and I think many would agree. But I can’t say enough good things about JJ. He has a wonderful family and strong support behind him. We are very happy to have him at the club.”
