Đoàn Văn Hậu stunned supporters with a long-range strike from midfield that beat Thanh Hóa’s goalkeeper, scoring his first goal in more than three years and aiding CAHN’s comeback win on the road.
The rescheduled round 10 V.League 2025/26 match between Thanh Hóa and Công an Hà Nội (CAHN) witnessed a magical moment from Đoàn Văn Hậu’s thunderous shot.
After conceding to Damoth Thongkhamsavath in the first half, CAHN faced challenges against the home team’s tight defense. In the second half, they regained confidence thanks to Alan’s penalty equalizer in the 55th minute. However, the highlight of the match—and perhaps the entire season—came just 10 minutes later.
In the 66th minute, with Thanh Hóa pushing forward, goalkeeper Xuân Hoàng left his goal to help start an attack. Spotting the vast open space behind, Văn Hậu intercepted the ball at midfield and immediately unleashed a powerful left-footed shot. The ball followed a perfect trajectory, flying beyond Xuân Hoàng’s reach, bouncing once, and then landing in the net, leaving the Thanh Hóa crowd silent before erupting in cheers.
This goal not only put CAHN ahead 2-1 but also held special significance for Văn Hậu personally. After 34 months, the defender born in 1999 scored again, his first since netting against Khánh Hòa in the 2023 National Cup. In the V.League, he had waited 40 months to celebrate a goal, a long enough period to make this masterpiece even more precious.
That moment showcased a blend of courage, vision, and technique rare among defenders. What seemed like an ordinary strike was transformed by Văn Hậu into a work of art—a timeless goal that fans will remember for years.
CAHN left with all three points, but the most memorable figure was Đoàn Văn Hậu, who turned a spontaneous moment into a legend at Thanh Hóa’s stadium.
