After 3 years of injury, Đoàn Văn Hậu finally speaks out

Đoàn Văn Hậu shared heartfelt feelings following his goal that secured CAHN's victory over Thanh Hoá on the night of February 24th.

On the evening of February 24th, the defender Đoàn Văn Hậu made an emotional comeback by scoring in Công an Hà Nội’s win against Thanh Hóa right at the opponent’s home ground. This was not just a simple goal but held special significance for the 1999-born player after a long battle with injury.

In fact, Văn Hậu had to wait 34 months before celebrating another goal since his strike against Khánh Hòa in the 2023 National Cup. In the V-League alone, he went 40 months without scoring.

After the match, Văn Hậu could not hide his happiness: "Right now, I feel very happy; it has been a long time since I last scored. For someone in my position, scoring a goal is a true joy. Even more joyful is that the whole team secured a victory today."

In this match, the player from Thái Bình did not play in his usual full-back position. However, he affirmed his readiness to adapt: "I think as long as I get to play, wherever I’m positioned, I will do my best to fulfill the role. I also believe Coach Polking has ideas and expectations for me."

Regarding the competition with teammate Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, Văn Hậu demonstrated a team spirit: "Between Pendant and me, we can switch roles or even play together."

After a long period off the field, the 27-year-old defender said his condition has improved significantly and he aims to play more: "I am currently in very good shape and must keep training to improve even further, always moving forward.

I always think positively and hope that one day I can return to playing regularly, and now that has become a reality. Once back on the field, I want to train hard to participate in many more games."

Despite enduring persistent injuries, Văn Hậu insists his fighting spirit remains unchanged:"For me, once I step onto the pitch, I forget everything else outside. I always give my all and work hard to complete my tasks."

For CAHN club, the 3-1 victory helps the police team maintain top position with 32 points, extending their lead to 5 points over second-place Ninh Bình, even though they have played one match fewer.
