Coach Mano Polking affirms his full trust in Văn Hậu after CAHN’s impressive 3-1 turnaround against Thanh Hóa, highlighting that determination and calmness were essential to earning the vital three points.
After the remarkable 3-1 comeback against Thanh Hóa in the rescheduled round 10 of the 2025/26 V-League, Coach Mano Polking showed clear satisfaction as his players demonstrated grit at the right moment. Despite falling behind in the first half on the road, CAHN maintained their composure to reverse the score and strengthen their position at the top of the table.
The Brazilian strategist praised the opponent’s fighting spirit: "We knew beforehand it would be a tough match. Thanh Hóa always plays with great determination at home and enjoys passionate support from their fans. Their last two games against Nam Định and TP.HCM proved that. After going down 1-0, the most important thing was for our players to stay calm, trust our style of play, and believe we were strong enough to come back. I’m very pleased with the team’s spirit and their ability to bounce back. These three points are truly crucial".
Not only satisfied with the result, Mr. Polking also emphasized that psychological strength was the key factor that allowed CAHN to turn the game around. According to him, the turning point was not personnel changes but faith in the tactical system built since the season began.
The 1976-born coach had special words for his players: "I’m very happy and proud of the players. It’s never easy to overturn the score in such a tense match. They kept calm, followed the tactical plan, and showed courage at the right moment. Of course, we will continue to analyze the match to improve, as we always do after every game. Regarding Văn Hậu, I have always believed in him. When doubts were raised about him, I stood by him and encouraged him to keep working hard. I know Văn Hậu’s abilities and I believe he is very important, not only for the club but also for the Vietnam national team. Today, he partly answered those doubts with his performance. I always hold great respect and appreciation for Văn Hậu".
Regarding opinions that Thanh Hóa was disadvantaged due to a lack of substitutes, Coach Polking frankly shared: "I sympathize with them for not having enough players on the bench. But that’s not our problem. In nearly 90 minutes, we only made three substitutions, some of which were players coming on late in the game. What matters is the preparation and how we focus on our tasks".
With 32 points after 10 matches, CAHN continues to hold the top spot, leading Ninh Bình by 5 points and Thể Công Viettel by 7 points, while having played one match less than their rivals. Nevertheless, Coach Polking remains cautious ahead of the home game against HAGL, stressing that the V-League leaves no room for complacency and the team must maintain full concentration for the journey ahead.
