Vietnam U23 center-back Phạm Lý Đức officially leaves CAHN to move to PVF-CAND on loan, aiming for increased match opportunities in the 2025/26 V-League's second stage.
Young center-back Phạm Lý Đức has officially bid farewell to CAHN to join PVF-CAND on a loan basis, opening a new chapter in his career during the second phase of the 2025/26 V-League. The transfer was completed on the afternoon of February 25, with hopes that the U23 Vietnam international will gain more playing time and practical experience.
The rescheduled round 10 V-League match between Thanh Hóa and CAHN on the evening of February 24 marked Lý Đức’s last inclusion in the police team’s roster before his departure. Although listed on the bench, the 2003-born player was not given a chance to enter the field. This partly reflects the tough challenges he faced competing for a spot in the capital club’s lineup.
Although he was a key member of Vietnam’s U23 squad at the recent AFC U23 Championship, Lý Đức still struggled to break into CAHN’s defense, which is packed with experienced players like Trần Đình Trọng, Đoàn Văn Hậu, Hugo Gomes, Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh, and Cao Pendant Quang Vinh. The fierce competition often relegated the young center-back to the bench, significantly limiting his chances to showcase his abilities.
Meanwhile, PVF-CAND urgently needs to strengthen its defense. Center-back Hiểu Minh suffered a severe injury and will be out for the season, leaving a big gap in the backline. In response, the coaching staff quickly reached an agreement to loan Lý Đức to bolster the squad depth.
Coach Nguyễn Thành Công frankly stated that Hiểu Minh’s injury forced the team to find a suitable replacement, and Lý Đức is a feasible option under the current circumstances. Although young and needing to improve consistency in his play, the defender is regarded as having great potential if given regular playing time.
On the afternoon of February 25, Lý Đức will have his first training session with PVF-CAND, ready to face new challenges. Temporarily leaving CAHN not only helps him seek more playing time but is also seen as a crucial turning point to prove himself. For PVF-CAND, the arrival of the Vietnam U23 defender promises to add a quality option for the decisive stage of the season.
