The head coach of Thailand declares victory over Vietnam to advance to the Southeast Asian championship final.

The Thai women's futsal national team coach is confident about beating the Vietnamese side in the semifinals of the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship.

The two semifinal pairings for the ASEAN Women's Futsal Championship have been confirmed as the following matchups: Thailand vs Vietnam and Australia vs Indonesia.

Accordingly, in the final Group A match, the Thai women's futsal team decisively defeated Malaysia 8-0, thereby eliminating their opponent's chance to progress. Sharing his thoughts after the match, Thailand's head coach Thanathorn Santhanaprasit said:

"This was a match where we wanted the players to perform with confidence and without putting pressure on themselves. Because during today's warm-up, they were worried they wouldn't play well. But once on the court, everyone tried to adapt better and performed better. Always improving."

Despite the 8-0 scoreline, the Thai women's futsal team still recognizes areas for improvement: "Even though we won 8-0, there were still some mistakes. There are still things that need to be corrected."

Notably, regarding the upcoming semifinal match against the Vietnamese women's futsal national team, the Thai strategist stated: "If you had asked me before the tournament, I thought we wouldn't meet in the semifinals because Vietnam is a strong team. But upon entering the competition, I saw Australia's form. They have performed very well in this round."

"We have met and defeated Vietnam in our previous encounter. This time,meeting in the semifinals is also very good. It will be proof of our team's strength."
