Cristiano Ronaldo is not only a football legend but is also steadily affirming his position as a global business mogul. At 41, the Portuguese superstar continues to expand his vast financial empire by becoming a co-owner of the Spanish club UD Almería.
Through his company CR7 Sports Investments, Ronaldo has acquired a 25% stake in the club, which competes in Spain's second division. Previously, Almería was acquired by a Saudi Arabian investment group last year.
Commenting on this deal, Ronaldo stated: "I have always wanted to contribute to football in ways that go beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a club with a solid foundation and clear potential for growth. I look forward to partnering with the leadership in its next phase of development."
Alongside football, Ronaldo has built the CR7 hotel chain in partnership with the Pestana Group since 2016, with locations in Madeira, Lisbon, Madrid, New York, and Marrakech. Recently, the brand has filed for registration in the UK, opening the possibility of expansion into the Manchester market, where Ronaldo still enjoys immense popularity.
In the realm of fitness and wellness, he owns the CR7 Crunch Fitness gym chain in Portugal and Spain, has invested in the hair transplant clinic chain Insparya, the beverage brand Ursu9, and the personalized vitamin company Bioniq. Additionally, he has collaborated on developing AvaCR7, a line of recovery and training support equipment.
The CR7 fashion brand, launched in 2006, is one of Ronaldo's most prominent ventures, offering products from underwear and apparel to fragrances.
In 2025, he ventured into film by co-founding the independent production company UR-Marv with British director Matthew Vaughn. Ronaldo called this "an exciting new chapter" in his business journey.
Furthermore, he joined an investment group to acquire Confina Media – a media conglomerate owning Portugal's best-selling newspaper and a television channel, later renamed Expressao Livre.
Ronaldo developed the Erakulis app focused on health and longevity, previously launched the Viva Ronaldo social network and the game Heads Up With Ronaldo. Recently, he invested in Perplexity AI, the wearable brand Whoop, and the football game UFL.
Beyond football, he spent around £4.5 million to open the Padel City club in Lisbon and became a shareholder in the MMA promotion WOW FC.
In the luxury sector, Ronaldo holds a 30% stake in Vista Alegre (a premium Portuguese porcelain and crystal brand) and has made significant investments in the online watch platform Chrono24.
Ronaldo's asset portfolio also includes a real estate collection valued at approximately £43 million, spanning from Madeira, Manchester, Marbella to Madrid. He also owns a villa on a private island and a mansion at the ultra-luxury Nujuma, Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence on the Red Sea, accessible only by private seaplane or yacht.
Ronaldo has described this place as "close to paradise," emphasizing the absolute peace he and his family find on this secluded island.
