The Thailand team sent head coach At 12:00 on February 27, 2026, at the Terminal Hall press conference room, Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, Nakhon Ratchasima province, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) organized a press conference before the semi-finals of the 2026 ASEAN Women's Futsal Championship.

The press conference was attended by the four semi-finalist teams: Thailand (Group A winner), Indonesia (Group A runner-up), Australia (Group B winner), and Vietnam (Group B runner-up). The Thailand team was represented by head coach Thanathorn Santhanaprasit and captain Darika Piarjailun.

Thailand women's futsal head coach Thanathorn Santhanaprasit stated: "Currently, the team has fully practiced all necessary aspects for both attack and defense to deal with the Vietnam team.

From observation, Vietnam's player number 6 (Thanh Ngan – Reporter) could be a key factor. However, she did not play in the most recent match; it's unclear if it was due to injury. We have analyzed and to cause them difficulty, we need to fiercely contest that key player.

This Vietnam squad is different from previous Southeast Asian Championships and SEA Games. They have added two new pillars.

At the 33rd SEA Games, one of their pillars did not participate, but in this tournament, their main pivot player is injured and absent. I think their starting lineup's effectiveness is somewhat reduced because of this. The duo wearing numbers 6 and 7 coordinate very well.

If the match is tied and goes to extra time, we are not too worried because we have had more rest than them. The Vietnam team had to play three consecutive matches with only one day of rest. If it extends to extra time, our players' physical condition could be better and we can apply pressure. Unlike the SEA Games, the goalkeeper needs to improve reflexes and handling. Regarding penalties, all players are confident but it also depends on luck. Nevertheless, the team's spirit is very strong."

Meanwhile, captain Darika Piarjailun shared: "I think the team is ready. We have a good recovery process and are 100% prepared. Vietnam's player number 6 is very noteworthy as she is their key player. The support from the fans is very meaningful, giving us extra motivation. We hope many supporters come to cheer for us."
