Vietnam National Team Coach: 'Thailand also has weaknesses'

In the match against host Thailand in the semifinal round of the 2026 ASEAN Women's Futsal Championship, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang is confident he and his trainees will manage to counter the opponent's power.

"The host Thailand has shown very good form, not conceding any goals yet. Thailand's attacking ability is excellent, as seen by the many goals they have scored. Therefore, this will be a difficult match for the Vietnam women's futsal team.

Thailand has many quality players. Our team must play with focus and find solutions to neutralize Thailand's dangerous players, especially captain Darika Peanpailun. We will have to study and control them.

They have also revealed some weaknesses. We will try to exploit them and play very well, handling the situations in the match to achieve the best result.

They have also displayed certain vulnerabilities. We will strive to take advantage of these, perform at our best, and manage the match situations to secure the most favorable outcome.

In this afternoon's training session, the coaching staff will have a plan to help the players recover their fitness and prepare tactics for the match against Thailand."

According to Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's assessment, the Thailand team has a physical advantage as they were in a group with only three teams and played only two matches, while the fitness of the Vietnam women's futsal team has decreased significantly after three matches in the group stage.

The semifinal match between the Vietnam team and the Thailand team will take place at 6:30 PM tomorrow, February 28th.
