The Vietnamese women's national team officially departs for Australia to participate in the 2026 Asian Cup Finals.
On the evening of February 27th, the Vietnamese women's national team officially departs for Australia to participate in the 2026 Asian Cup Finals. At 7:05 PM, the entire team left Noi Bai Airport, traveling to Ho Chi Minh City to catch a connecting flight to the competition venue. This journey involves two flight legs, marking the final preparation step before entering the important continental women's football tournament.
After landing in Ho Chi Minh City, the team rested for about 3 hours before continuing the second leg at 1 AM. This flight lasts approximately 7 hours, and it is expected that Huynh Nhu and her teammates will arrive in Perth the next morning—the host city for the Group C matches.
The final squad list of 26 players, led by Coach Mai Duc Chung, was confirmed before the departure day. A notable point is that forward Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan was added to the squad after joining training from February 18th, replacing an injured player and simultaneously strengthening the team's attacking power.
According to Coach Mai Duc Chung, the coaching staff has completed all preparation plans for the tournament. He stated that the training schedule proceeded smoothly, with players maintaining good morale and physical condition, thereby forming an important foundation for the team to aim for effective performance at the 2026 Women's Asian Cup.
Another positive sign is the team's stability as many injured players have recovered and returned to normal training. Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed satisfaction that the current squad is in a highly ready state, boosting the team's confidence heading into the tournament.
According to the match schedule, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group C and will face India (March 4th), Chinese Taipei (March 7th), and Japan (March 10th), with all matches taking place in Perth. The top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals, presenting an opportunity for Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team to compete.
