Jurgen Klopp is set to return to coaching after leaving Liverpool, with his next team truly surprising.

According to multiple European sources, Jürgen Klopp is very close to returning to the managerial bench after a period away from this role.

The legendary manager formerly associated with Liverpool F.C. currently holds the position of global football director for Red Bull GmbH. However, Spanish media reports that he has unexpectedly been contacted for a notable deal: leading Atlético Madrid.

Recently, some rumors have emerged suggesting that Red Bull's leadership is not entirely satisfied with Klopp's performance in his new role. Even Crystal Palace F.C.'s manager, Oliver Glasner, has been mentioned as a potential replacement for him in the future. Nevertheless, Red Bull quickly dismissed these reports, affirming they are completely satisfied with Klopp's contributions to the corporation's football system.

Despite that denial, Spanish media continues to release new information suggesting Klopp might leave his current position to return to coaching. According to the television program El Chiringuito, the German strategist is considered the top candidate to replace Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid in the near future.

This would be a notable turning point if the deal materializes, as Simeone had an unpleasant experience at Anfield in September. At that time, Atletico Madrid lost 2-3 to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, and the Argentine strategist even had to be restrained by assistants when attempting to argue with a Liverpool fan in the technical area.

Simeone's current contract with Atletico will enter its final year next summer at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium. In this context, El Chiringuito reports that Klopp is having discussions with Mark Rowan, the CEO of investment fund Apollo Global Management, which holds a significant stake in Atletico Madrid.

This information is certainly surprising, as Red Bull leadership previously reacted strongly to rumors concerning Klopp's future. Oliver Mintzlaff, the CEO overseeing projects and investments for Red Bull, stated: "That is completely baseless and meaningless information. On the contrary, we are extremely satisfied with Jürgen Klopp's work and believe he is the most suitable person for this position. All our focus and resources are directed towards that."

When announcing his departure from Liverpool in 2024, Klopp stated he would not coach any other team in England. However, the German strategist did not exclude the possibility of working at another club in Europe. Therefore, whenever a major position becomes vacant, his name is often immediately mentioned.

Previously, after Xabi Alonso left Real Madrid C.F., Klopp was linked with the hot seat at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Additionally, he was seen as a potential candidate for the head coach position of the Germany national football team if Julian Nagelsmann departs after the FIFA World Cup.

In an interview with The Athletic in September, Klopp said he is enjoying life without the pressures of coaching. The 58-year-old manager mentioned having more time to attend friends' weddings or simply go to watch movies. However, when asked whether he is certain he will not return to coaching, Klopp left the possibility open.

He shared: "Currently, I think not. But you never know what might happen. I am only 58 years old. If someday, say at 65, I return to coaching, people will say: 'You said you wouldn't do it again!' When I said that, I truly believed it 100%. Now, that remains my thought. I do not miss coaching work."
